Dreams Take Flight Gala
On October 21st, Dreams Take Flight hosted their annual fundraising Gala "An Evening of Dreams". The event raises proceeds which are then directed to help send children in need of a special day to Walk Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida. Children chosen for the flight include those with life threatening illnesses, physical or mental challenges and those who come from other disadvantaged situations. This year's event, held at the Toscana Banquet Hall, was the 22nd installment. Those in attendance enjoyed great hospitality courtesy of the site and various activities including an auction table. Special guests included Linda Jackson, York Regional Police Deputy Chief Bruce Herridge, Walter Gretzky and a guest who on board the first ever flight 21 years ago.
